Huber transparent white printing ink (Michael Huber München) is a specialist printmaking medium designed for workshop graphic and alternative photographic techniques such as oil print and bromoil. It is a pigment-free ink used to reduce the covering power of printing inks without altering their consistency, structure, or contrast.
In practice, it functions as a neutral modifier that enables precise control of midtones and subtle tonal transitions within the image.
Applications
- oil print technique
- bromoil print technique
- workshop and artistic printmaking
- control of ink opacity and covering strength
- modulation of midtones and image contrast
- CMYK mixing and manual printmaking processes
- pigment-based alternative photographic processes
Why this product
Huber transparent white ink is a corrective and modulatory tool that allows full control over the image without affecting its pigment structure. As it contains no pigment, it does not introduce any color shift, but instead lightens and opens up ink layers.
In oil and bromoil techniques, it enables a wide tonal range—from dense, highly saturated dark areas to delicate, transparent transitions.
When combined with linseed oil available in our shop, it further improves control over ink behavior on the matrix, resulting in a more flexible and predictable printing process.
