Papers for Photographic Processes
The choice of paper has a significant impact on the appearance of the print, the way the sensitizing solution is applied, and the overall working process. In this category you will find papers tested for historical and alternative photographic processes.
Canson Student is a good choice for beginners, learning, testing, and everyday work. Its affordable price makes it particularly suitable for first prints, experiments, and learning cyanotype.
Carta Eterna 95 g/m² is a lightweight, smooth paper with a natural white tone, free from optical brighteners and alkaline buffering. It accepts sensitizing solution well and allows for clean, detailed prints. Thanks to its low weight, it is particularly suitable for cyanotype, artist books, albums, leporellos, and projects where the paper needs to remain light and flexible.
Carta Eterna 120 g/m² has the same smooth surface and natural colour, but is slightly stiffer and more stable when wet. It is a good choice for cyanotype prints intended as individual finished works, when you want a lightweight paper with greater stability than the 95 g/m² version.
BERGGER COT 160 is a high-quality paper made from 100% cotton and designed specifically for alternative photographic processes. It is lighter and more flexible than COT 320, making it well suited to smaller prints, artist books, leporellos, and projects that require the paper to be folded.
BERGGER COT 320 is recommended for finished prints, exhibition work, and larger formats. It is thicker and stiffer, and its naturally white cotton surface was designed with processes such as platinum and palladium printing, cyanotype, and Van Dyke Brown in mind.
