One-Solution Cyanotype – 50 ml

Single-solution cyanotype from Alternative Photographic Supplies is a modern variation of the cyanotype process in which one ready-to-use light-sensitive solution is used instead of two separate solutions.

Unlike the classic cyanotype process based on Herschel’s formula, it does not require mixing Solutions A and B immediately before use. The solution is ready to apply directly to the paper, which simplifies preparation before exposure.

Single-solution cyanotype is more sensitive to UV light and offers a wider tonal range than the traditional process. It allows more subtle transitions between the darkest blue areas and the lighter tones of the image.

As with classic cyanotype, finished prints can also be toned, allowing you to modify their colour and overall character.

The process is, however, more demanding when it comes to paper selection. The type and properties of the paper can have a noticeable effect on the final print, so it is worth carrying out a test before starting a larger piece.
