Michael Huber printing ink (Munich) in a warm shade of grey, intended for printmaking and for photographic oil-based processes, particularly oil printing and bromoil.
Warm grey allows you to work with monochrome images without the need to mix black and white inks. It produces a calm, slightly warmer tonal character and can also be used to prepare custom colour mixtures.
Use in oil printing and bromoil
In oil printing and bromoil, the ink is applied by hand to a properly prepared gelatin layer. The amount of ink, the method of application and the way the brush is used make it possible to build up the image gradually and influence its contrast and tonal character.
Warm grey is particularly useful for monochrome prints when a softer, warmer overall image tone is desired.
The ink can also be mixed with transparent printing ink to reduce its opacity and achieve more delicate tonal transitions.
Printmaking
The ink can also be used in traditional printmaking and other manual printing techniques.
